Natalie likes to trust people. If you are a friend, and tell her it’s in her best interest to jump off a building, she is going to doubt you, but will do it anyway. And depending on the outcome, will proceed to either give you candy or beat you up like a rag doll.
She is also hopeful. Hopeful that you didn’t really just prank her, or that she didn’t really beat you up too badly afterwards.
Overall, she is cheerful and tries to do the right things, make some friends, have fun, and find a way back home.
Edit: She has a rather short attention span and is very good at distracting/persuading herself.
History:
‘Mommy went on a trip to Mars to bring you the prettiest rocks.’ Natalie’s dad told her on her fifth birthday. ‘We can’t go with her, because we are not strong enough.’
Natalie was a bit sad, but she understood. Mom was on a special mission to make her happy. To bring her special rocks. To make all her friends jealous. It was worth the wait. She thought as she stuffed her mouth full of cake. Mmmm. Mom bakes the best cakes.
Natalie turned eight. She didn’t want rocks anymore.
She kept badgering dad about mom. Is something wrong? Is mom coming back? I miss her cake. Dad kneeled down and hugged her. ‘It’s a long way to Mars. Stay strong, she’ll be back before you know it.’
Natalie turned ten. She didn’t want cakes anymore.
‘I want my mom!’ She screamed. ‘Shhh, don’t disturb the neighbors.’ Dad tried to hug her, she backed away. ’No! Don’t lie to me again! I want to see mom!’ She stormed up the stairs. It was dark. She was furious. She slipped.
It has been seven years since then. Natalie now has enough special rocks to line up her window, her desk, her bed frame, and stuff one down each sock she owns. She visits her mother in hospital every other day, and lives with her father in an apartment just big enough. Life is hard, but she could manage.
Natalie turned seventeen. She no longer remembers what cakes taste like, but that’s okay.

Natalie’s mother was discovered as a Stand user when Natalie was five. Her father tried to hide it from her as best as he could, but realization came with time. When she finally lost her temper and tried to make a statement by storming up the stairs (as hard as she could, to make a point), she slipped and, as her head was about to make contact with the stairs, awakened her Stand. Her Stand prevented all harm, but the sound it made in the process alerted the neighbors. She was discovered and to be promptly shipped off along with her father, who begged to go with her. They arrived on Mars, only to find the mother ill and barely keeping up. She was soon hospitalized, while Natalie and her father worked to pay off the bills.
Her young mind couldn’t process the turn of events, so she gladly accepted her father’s explanation that they were just taking a long vacation on another planet, because people on earth didn’t know how to accommodate special people like her. That lie wore off fast, but there was nothing she could do. Thankfully, her parents tried their best to filter out the worst influences as she grew up on this foreign planet. She now works as a delivery person for several stores and food joints, reassuring her parents of her safety with her Stand's capabilities.
Natalie tries to remember what life used to be like before the deportation. Albeit wishful thinking, she remains hopeful that one day, her family can all finish this ‘vacation’ and go back to their real home.
Notable Skills:
- Natalie has a keen sense of hearing and great balance from playing with her Stand for so long.
- She isn’t great with machinery, but isn’t afraid to tinker away (due to her Stand’s ability to protect herself from harm). Just from years of trial and error, she now has a raw instinct when it comes to operating electronics and machinery. 7 out of 10 times things won't explode and die. Just don't put valuables in her hand.
Notable Weaknesses:
- Natalie’s earbuds, once broken, will no longer filter out sounds harmful to her ears. She will have to either hold back her Stand's power, or use it at the risk of damaging her own hearing.
- She is also quick to believe others. It is one of those things she unconsciously does to avoid emotional strife, a result of relying heavily on her father’s lies (and her own imagination) over the years to maintain a happier outlook on life.
Important Items:
- A special set of earbuds, engineered to automatically cancel out sounds harmful to her ears. Natalie can also manually set how much sound gets filtered through. They fit quite snugly and won’t come off easily, even during sudden movements.
- An 8-inch tall brown teddy bear named Rusty, with an inner pouch accessed from the zippers on its back. Inside is filled with an assortment of candies from earth. She keeps it in her satchel.
Appearance: Natalie is of average height (163cm) and build (46kg), leaning on the thin side due to malnutrition. She has curly green hair (dyed in her mother’s favorite color) that always manages to get in the way, olive colored eyes, and light skin. Her clothes are always a tad too big, leaving more than enough room to grow into (a frugal tactic sponsored by mom...except that she doesn't really grow anymore), so she usually opts for something simple to keep the fashion in check - tank tops, a loose jacket, a giant belt over loose fitting pants, with the pant legs stuffed into oversized boots, home to feet with at least two layers of fluffy socks so they don’t slip out easily.
STAND PROFILE
Name: Magic Blue Van
Ability: Magic Blue Van plays with [force of impact] and [volume], making them inversely proportional to each other: The louder something is, the smaller its force of impact, and vice versa. In order to activate this ability, Magic Blue Van needs to be in contact with the target.
For example, if Natalie is falling from a great height, she can choose to completely negate the impact on landing by making the landing sound like a bomb going off. Or, when hitting a wall with a metal bat, she can choose to completely smother the sound and instead make the hit a lot more powerful than it's supposed to be, easily shattering the wall.

Appearance: Magic Blue Van is a humanoid Stand with elongated limbs and large hands and feet, making its torso and head look childlike in comparison. It wears a black one piece that fans out from behind, and has black lines running down its entirety. The palms of its hands and soles of its feet are also black and connected to the lines running down its limbs. The parts of its body not covered by the dress/lines take on a gradient of faint blue-red, pulsing outwards from its abdomen.

Appearance: Lightning’s torso is rather bulky and contains the cockpit which protrudes slightly outward from its abdominal area. Its head (small in comparison to the rest of its body) raises slight above the torso and is just for show. Its joints are extremely flexible, able to bend and operate at any angle. The cockpit is connected to the main body with a series of flexible and pliable metal frames, joints, and wires, that ensures that whatever Lightning is doing (be it standing, lying down, doing somersaults, or getting blown out of the sky), the cockpit can always reorient itself to face whichever direction the pilot chooses.
Weapons and Abilities:
Quick Maneuvers
Lightning’s design enables it to accomplish difficult maneuvers with ease like a seasoned gymnast. The self-orienting cockpit ensures that the robot can be operated from any position (stand on its arms, or one arm and one leg when flipped sideways, or even use all four limbs to remain active on unfavorable terrain). It will never lose its balance. This creates opportunities that are usually impossible to exploit, and with its speed, it can efficiently dodge blows from enemies.
Aided Melee Combat
The end of each limb is capable of creating concentrated and volatile energy blasts. They are inaccurate in range, but aiming doesn’t really matter if the target is right in front. Lightning uses it to aid melee combat by firing out the blasts upon hitting/touching the target - this is where the majority of the damage comes from, and makes up for Lightning’s lack of raw power.
When not concentrated into blasts, they are used to move around/fly.
Stand Burst:
All four limbs rotate to join in front of the torso, transforming itself into a giant cannon. It charges and fires a single shot that eats away any sound created from contact with the target (such as explosions or the sounds of the target collapsing), adding them to its destructive power, just like how Magic Blue Van works. It’s a silent but deadly bomb.
After firing the shot, it takes a while to rearrange the limbs back to their original positions due to overheating. MBV will also be temporarily out of commission, leaving the cockpit and the Stand User vulnerable to direct strikes.

Note for MBV:
How much sound/force is produced/converted depends on the objects involved, like how punching a mattress produces a smaller sound than punching the floor with the same strength, so once converted, the force is maybe 1.2x the punch for the mattress and 1.5x for the floor. I don't want to get too wrapped up in specific numbers for ratios, and will ajust accordingly so things don't get out of hand.

Appearance very loosely based on the image, with the legs identical to the arms. The end of each limb is able to transition between hand/foot.
Torso is slightly more rounded/bulky. Cockpit in abdominal area.
