Personality: An intellectual at his very core, Alister best exemplifies the maxim of 'knowledge is power'; ruthless, manipulative, and coldly logical, he has no qualms about using underhanded tactics and deception to get what he wants... and what he wants are rare tomes and artifacts of an occult or arcane nature. He firmly believes that such knowledge will be his path to power and success were other avenues have failed him. He has a deep-seated sense of superiority where raw Intelligence and learning are concerned, to such an extent he despises relying on others. A fierce independent streak coupled with his tendency for subterfuge paint him as one not to be trust; and though one might be partially right in that assumption, he nonetheless keeps his promises(unless him himself is betrayed) and pays his debts in full. He is sardonic, cynical, brutally honest when he needs to be and above all a man driven by the simple maxim of 'knowledge is power'.
History: Born in the Isle of Man's capital township of Douglas, Alister Ramsay Moore was the only child of an African-American merchant and shopkeeper. His mother died when he was 7, an event that profoundly impacted him at the time; where once he simply been the studious but nonetheless quite and bookish type, he became increasingly withdrawn and stand-offish with his peers. Many a day ended with Alister's glasses shattered, his face bruised and bloodied and his precious books torn to bits. His teachers and other adults proved apathetic to his place, and this indifference served only to push Alister further and further into literature both as an escape... and an avenue to power and retribution.
The Prince, The Art of War, Meditations.... from politics to philosophy, science to theology, Alister devoured every book or journal he could get his hands on. His pursuit of knowledge increasingly sent him down the path of the arcane and occult in search of ever more obscure knowledge to find ever greater fonts of power. The bullies would still laugh and berate him but the attacks ceased for everyone had come to know of the shadowed paths and dark secrets he had learned; they still shunned him. but now they feared him far more.
He attended Lancaster University to achieve his Master's in English before settling in the city and deciding on the direction he wished to take in life; his research had dug up interesting tidbits of information and a good number of occult artifacts, goods that could be worth a pretty penny to the right people. Alister dove headlong into the illicit trading of artifacts and tomes of knowledge unfit for the common man; Rings of Power, Crystal skulls and books of a diabolical nature would grace his hands to be appraised and traded for wealth, information or artifacts of equal value. All the while Alister expanded his knowledge of the sorcerous arts, but alas he lacked either the heritage or circumstances to properly wield them... until the day a strange blade gripped him in its icy hold; when he came to a spiritual object would now appear when he called for it. Now with the world descending into chaos amidst the rising tides of monstrosities Alister sees an opportunity to seize even greater power for himself by supporting this so called 'Hunter Association' in their time of need....

Sorcery: Alister has developed his skills in the arts of Ephemera, and Shadoweaving. Alister best exemplifies the Cagliostran Sorcerer: he uses sigils and numerology as the source of power for his spells, Latin vocalization to focus the effect and finally hand-gestures to work his will. If he's distracted, obstructed or in anyone way kept from completed a step there could catastrophic results.
Notable Weaknesses: Physically weak, His distrusting and deceitful nature puts off would-be allies, His desire to pay his debts in full can be used against him.

Appearance: Standing at 5'7" and weighing in at 175 lbs Alister's British-African form is lean and svelte with a scholarly air about he. His eyes are tawny brown and his head is bald. He wears a monocle over his left eye and prefers suits and academic wear of varying shades of black and grey. On his finger is a ring of vaguely Egyptian design; a simple golden ring with a square ruby inset in the middle with various ankhs and other symbols along the rings rim. This artifact, Alister claims, was a powerful catalyst wielded by the ancient sorceress Maatkare; its power has long since faded but Alister now wears it as a memento.
Freak on a Leash
Ability: Freak on a Leash has a prehensile tongue coated in a potent neurotoxin; if it makes contact with skin the afflicted person will begin to loose feeling in the struck area, followed by intense swelling and pain throughout the rest of the body before finally succumbing to heart failure as the body shuts down(A process that takes 50 minutes to complete). Additionally Freak has heightened senses of smell, hearing and taste but lacks sight; olfactory or auditory deception can therefore be used to trick or disorient Freak. His animal nature makes complex tasks impossible for him to perform, therefore Alister purely as a guard and attack animal.
