Jett Trask
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Country of Birth: Helena, Montana, United States
Personality: Jett is a man of contrasts defined by his ideals. Calm and laid-back, taciturn, level-headed, and analytical most of the time, even as he possesses a lethally short-temper for the radically ruthless and wantonly cruel; when roused he becomes brutal, aggressive, impulsive, and excessively violent in his wrath towards those he perceives as truly evil. On the one hand he strongly opposes the notion of killing others, especially if done to gain power, and does have some form of a code of honour, but on the other hand he displays little respect for unjust authority and says whatever is on his mind, regardless of whether or not it is appropriate.
Jett is bold, intrepid, valiant and fearless as he needs to be on his journey. He is a hero who tries to live up to glorious ideals and codes of justice. By protecting that which is good, he seeks to preserve the society that made him what he is. He bends his efforts towards defending those who deserve a fighting chance... and yet he is also a malcontent, never satisfied with the status quo or the system as it is. He hates unjust authority and does everything in his power to challenge and undermine it. He holds freedom dearly and desires justice, and will do whatever is necessary to hold on to these precious liberties while fighting corruption in the system where he finds it. In defiance of unjust law then Jett prefers taking the law into his own hands, punishing criminals the law can't or won't.
History: Jett’s upbringing was hardly ideal even by the standards of America’s urban poor. He’s father’s work as low-level factory worker meant his mother had to enter the workforce just so the family could get by. Conversely Jett didn’t get to spend much time with his parents; further isolated from his peers due to his socio-economic status the young Jett turned to delinquency and crime alongside others of the Greaser sub-culture. Petty thievery and vandalism soon turned to extortion and smuggling in Helena's mean streets.
However a chance encounter with a man with strange powers would change Jett’s life forever. He awakened a strange ability that he would soon come to discover was called a Stand and promptly defeated his foe who turned out to also be a Stand User. Endowed with a newfound power and awareness of his world Jett rededicated his life to defending Helena from villainous Stand Users alongside other occult foes. He proved rather capable at this and even grew rather over-confident in his abilities… until a fateful encounter with a very powerful Stand User left Jett near death as he his foe rampaged through the poor district of the city, killing his parents.
Loathing his inability to protect the ones he cared most about Jett embarked on a self-imposed exile, riding the backroads and highways of America in pursuit of redemption… as well as revenge against the man who ruined his home.
Current Life: His curiosity piqued by the Mothman legends, Jett has made his way into Fallbrook to get a sense for what’s really going on such a sleepy American town.
Skills: An apt street-fighter, motorcyclist, mechanic and tactician.
Weaknesses: Impulsive and self-confident bordering on arrogant. Not exactly a trusting person.
Appearance: About 5’9” with an athletic build weighing in at 180 lbs. His hair is dark brown to match his eyes and almost always slicked back. The defining trait of his appearance is a black leather jacket. When projecting his consciousness he takes on an intangible, semi-transparent image of himself glowing with green energy.
Other Details: This Jett is...different. While the essence of who he is remains the same, certain details and personality traits appear to separate him from the Jett that previously appeared and then disappeared in Fallbrook.
Weird Science
Ability: Non-Locality - According to Bell’s Interconnectedness theorem — and the experimental data that supports it — reality is non-local. Distance, direction and size are not immutable absolutes, but simply coordinate aspects of the wave function. This mathematical property of the wave equation has led some physicists to dub these coordinate functions as mere “space-like separation.” Another mathematical property of the wave equation is that any waveform can be transformed into any other type of waveform by compounding it with itself enough times. Weird Science does just that; by altering it and Jett's vibrations in such geometrically precise ways, the two can traverse space without moving, disappearing from one location and reappearing at another. Additionally he can take full advantage of both the non-local properties of his own waveform and the highly localized particular nature of his body to allow the former to leave the latter behind in a form of psychic projection, effectively doubling Jett's operational range.
Weird Science is not without it's drawbacks however. Jett needs to have at least an image in his mind of the locale he wishes to teleport to before actual doing so. Moreover there's no guarantee the locale he's going to is at this moment safer than where he is, as will not always have foreknowledge of where he's going to. He can only teleport himself, his clothes and small personal items, and select matter equivalent no greater in size to a standard issue Harley Davidson motorcycle; other people are outside the scope of Weird Science's power. His psychic projection leaves his body comatose, and he has no way of knowing his body’s current state of health or any other information about it unless he were able to somehow contact someone. Which leads into the most pronounced weakness of this power; Jett cannot affect creatures or things physically while projecting even as he himself can be affected by mental powers. The Stand itself can still be commanded and controlled as it is the conduit between his projection and physical body but is still bound by it's own operational range. Jett also needs to be maintaining some form of physical contact with something he wishes to teleport, just as Weird Science needs to be touching him to do the same.
Stand Type: Long-Range
Power: E
Speed: B
Range: A(100 meters)
Durability: D
Precision: B
Learning: C
Appearance: Something like this.
Example of Power: Needing to get where he's going fast, Jett has Weird Science adjust their vibrations to move them farther ahead on the wave function.
Wanting to scout ahead Jett projects his mental form while sleeping, circling a large area to guard against prospective threats.
