Character Profile
Name:
Charm Lee
Gender:
Female
Age:
21
Country of Birth:
USA
Personality:
Cool, collected and confident. Doesn't let much phase her. Chill to the extreme, but has a warm personality underneath it all. Not much for initiating conversations, but will generally do a good job of keeping them up if someone gets her talking. While not averse to joking around, overall she's fairly serious; she staked her life on her convictions a long time ago. Genuinely not afraid of death as long as she manages to accomplish something, although she's not one to seek it out, either. Strongly desires to be a reliable person and a good friend.
History:
Although she was born on Earth, she doesn't remember it. Her earliest childhood memory takes place in the streets and slums of the red planet, where she was raised among several other children she was, as far as she knew, not related to - not by blood, anyway. While her crew was generally fairly rough-and-tumble, and she was no exception, she did tend to be more of the brains than the brawn of the operation. Her Stand, which she has no memory of ever having been without, lent itself well to gathering information and learning new skills, and so she spent her early years performing first aid on her pals who were frequently roughed up during their various street escapades.
This turned out to be a useful skill to have; when you're the only medic nearby willing to keep her mouth shut, people don't tend to want to piss you off. This allowed her to politic her way to having a substantial degree of power over the early gangs of her local sector of the red planet, and then even more once they realized just how good her Stand was for gathering intel. Several pieces of blackmail, a teaspoon of natural charisma, and a few broken bones later, and she was the teenage queen of street-level crime within her district. This could be attributed to a few things; one, she wasn't easy to replace in her role of doctor and knowing what's going on well before anybody else does. Two, she was generally nicer than most other crime bosses, even of the street type. And finally, three, the other people who wanted that position figured that it would be better to sit out and wait for a damned teen, of all people, to mess up and get killed than to instigate some sort of civil war.
But Charm wasn't dumb, for the most part, and really, these were the streets. It's not like she was dealing with real organized crime, like some mafia type shit. She was benevolent to her people, when they weren't asses, and kept the streets clear of the really bad types well enough. Mostly, they sold drugs and used the profits to help people. Anyone who saw Charm as soft and tried to take over was dealt with swiftly, reminded that although she was not cruel she was more than capable of breaking bones and setting examples when necessary.
At the core of it all, she wasn't in it for the power; she simply wanted to help people, and this was the best way to do it she could think of, at least with her shitty lot in life. Her Stand had not only allowed her to see the physical ailments of her friends in a way no-one else could, it had allowed her to see the quiet suffering experienced by everyone who'd been exiled to the shitty rock prison that was her home. So, when the rebellion arrived, she was quick to join; she did medical stuff at first, but quickly learned the ins and outs of machine repair, then programming, and finally piloting mechs. Leaving a trusted friend in charge of her hometown, she set out to protect them from a threat far more sinister than any street gang could fight off, and to save them from a place where nothing good was waiting for them.
Current Life:
A recently-admitted mecha pilot for the resistance, she's now awaiting her first mission.
Skills:
Good at reading and understanding people, diagnosing problems in people and machines, fixing those problems if they're not too terribly complicated, adapting to new situations, being a shoulder to cry on, beating people up, and staying cool under pressure.
Weaknesses:
Fighting off some old addictions, less able to be impartial when people other than herself are on the line, not used to being surprised, quite possibly too self-sacrificing.
Appearance:
Her hair, black toward the back and blonde in front, is styled into an impeccable pompadour at all times, and if it's not she'll probably be pissed off about it. She has a slightly narrow face, monolids over her dark-as-black eyes, and soft facial features accompanied by a strong makeup game. She covers most of her scars in order to emphasize the vertical one stitched up directly under her left eye. Her body itself is tall, standing at 5'11'', and muscular for her somewhat thin frame, covered in dark skin. Her wardrobe typically varies from day to day, but it's generally fairly punk, with bandannas and jackets with patches and torn jeans and various buttons. She makes a point of not wearing anything that would hinder her in a fight.
Other Details:
Usually carries a smartphone, a pistol, brass knuckles, a lighter, and a first aid kit. Will secretly be very sad if somebody doesn't like her.
Stand Profile
Stand Name:
『Palmcorder Yajna』
Ability:
As a shadow-esque being, it can travel and spread over any surface so long as it remains connected to Charm. It can take on any 2-dimensional shape, although it certainly prefers its natural form. It is very good at blending into even light shade, and is thus difficult to spot if one isn't looking for it. Even if one does find it, the Stand is totally intangible and unable to be harmed. However, its true ability lies in the eye-like shapes it can create anywhere on its body. Using these eyes, it can "observe" anything that it's touching, giving Charm detailed information on everything within its reach. It's especially good at observing actions, but it can develop a decent report for unmoving subjects as well.
Using this observation, it can "record" the actions of nonliving things, allowing it to "play" them over again on objects which that action might apply to. At its most basic level, recording a gun firing would allow it to cause other guns to fire. More abstractly, it could record a cap being pulled off a pen in order to pull a pin out of a grenade. Living things may not be recorded or played back on except for Charm herself. Finally, if Palmcorder Yajna connects to a screen of some kind, it can display video feeds from the perspectives of its many eyes, and can do similar things with audio if a speaker is present.
Given the Stand's range, its ability can be extremely useful for gathering information and doing damage from afar, although it may be difficult to use in a direct fight unless the user can be creative with the environment. If something were to leave the surface which connected it to Palmcorder Yajna, the Stand would stick to them - "peeling" off of the other surface somewhat - for up to ten meters before snapping back. So, for instance, unless the target is already fairly close, one cannot simply wrap Yajna around the surface of a bullet and then fire it in order to get it onto an airborne foe. Furthermore, attempting to play back an action onto an object which is incompatible with that action will cause Charm to receive static feedback, causing pins and needles at low levels and total numbness and immobilization at the highest ones. For instance, the earlier example involving the grenade would cause Charm to become numb at her fingertips, while attempting to play back an explosion onto, say, a block of wood would result in the wood heating up slightly at best and cause Charm to momentarily collapse. Finally, Palmcorder Yajna has a limit of one recording at a time, and must delete the previous recording before obtaining a new one.

Appearance:
Palmcorder Yajna appears as a slightly purple-tinted shadow, usually taking the shape of a featureless body with somewhat disproportionately small, pointy-fingered hands, a softly-angled square head, large devil-ish horns, and a single cyclops-eye with a diamond pupil in the center of its face. Although it can spread in any way it wishes, it usually does so by multiplying and elongating its arms and covering them in eyes.
Example of Power: Yajna records Charm's pistol's safety turning on, and then plays that back on the guns of several enemies who are attempting to shoot her, preventing them from firing.
Yajna records Charm's phone turning its flashlight app off, then plays that back on all the lights in the building.
Yajna records a lock unlocking, and then uses that to break into a building without setting off any alarms.
Mech Profile
Name:
『Butter Teeth』
Height:
20m
Firepower:
C
Accuracy:
B
Melee:
D
Speed:
C
Maneuverability:
A
Durability:
D
Appearance:
Because Charm didn't care for the aesthetics of the mech so much as its function, it's somewhat generic looking, with light armor colored in various shades of off-white and pink-red connective areas, hence the name. It's humanoid, and its surface is very smooth and shiny, and its visor is a yellow-glowing circle slightly off from the center of its face. Its built-in weapons usually aren't visible until they're being used, and neither are the boosters on its back and feet that allow it to fly. Its arms are disproportionately long and oddly flexible, and its overall build is fairly slender, although it widens somewhat around the upper torso. Its dual shortswords are visibly sheathed near its lower back.
Weapons and Abilities:
Its main firepower comes in the form of a mechanism which fires crossbow bolt-like projectiles from between the knuckles of each hand. These bolts are built to penetrate before exploding, although if they run into armor which they cannot penetrate they'll simply explode on its surface. Three bolts are generally sent out at a time, but if a more accurate shot is desired then firing two or one is also possible. However, although they're less powerful (excepting penetrative power), its harpoon guns are even more important. These are located in the forearms, and fire double-pronged harpoons which may then be reeled back in or used to channel a substantial electric shock. If for whatever reason the harpoon is cut off from its cord, it may be replaced with one of the several spares located within the mech's forearm. Finally, for melee weapons, Butter Teeth has two short swords. These are meant more for briefly engaging close-ranged threats before running away than anything, being wide enough to be used as effective blocking tools. However, they're still capable of dealing decent damage, especially against poorly-armored targets.
In terms of abilities, both of its feet contain mechanisms which allow it to root itself into any surface, be it terrain or another mech. This is meant to allow it to pull heavier mechs toward it with its harpoon guns. However, its potentially more deadly ability involves the flexibility and semi-extendability of its arms, which allow it to properly utilize almost any weapon it can get its hands on with Palmcorder Yajna telling Charm how they work.
Stand Burst: 『Snakeheads』 allows Palmcorder Yajna to quickly travel across the cord of the harpoon gun and into an enemy mech; once this is achieved, the enemy mech will be forced to copy Butter Teeth's movements. The more different the mech is from Butter Teeth, the more feedback Charm will receive, making use against certain opponents difficult. The best way to end it is to break the harpoon wire somehow.
