Agalloch Khallice
Gender: Male
Age: 38
Country of Birth: Providence, Rhode Island, United States
Personality: Agalloch is a cruel and twisted man who gleefully drives people into fear induced madness and often times death in the name of research, as well as for the sheer joy of it. Agalloch treats fear as the supreme guiding force of the universe and sees how it governs every action and interaction people have in their daily lives; in turn he seeks to control this force in a megalomaniacal thirst for power and domination over the world. He is callous, malicious and uncaring to the world around him with his only interest being how a situation or area might benefit his research.
One would not however get this sense from how Agalloch speaks and acts. He speaks in a coldly clinical and soft-spoken monotone and maintains a calm and emotionless exterior that never betrays the cunning mastermind within.
History: Born into a well to do Providence family in 1916 Agalloch was always capricious and precocious child growing up. Highly intelligent and charming to all who met him he was always the top of his class and very popular with the ladies. This mask served however to cover up his deep-seated anxieties and fears; fears of the world around him, of failure... if their was a phobia of it Agalloch probably had it. No matter how hard he tried he simply could not beat these anxieties on his own, and everyday his perfect facade cracked more and more.
One day he volunteered at a retirement home with some other students as part of some initiative to pad the Mayor's re-election. While there Agalloch... encountered something. An elderly woman on the cusp of death, but it wasn't the peaceful journey into the afterlife he had been told to expect; she was despondent, terrified of waited for her in the beyond. Agalloch had never been confronted with a terror greater than his own and soon he felt a feeling of exaltation at such an idea, exaltation that soared higher and higher as she fell deeper and deeper into despair. Agalloch did everything in his power to exacerbate her suffering from hallucinogenic drugs to simply telling her of the pain that awaited her. The torment finally drove the woman to take her own life prematurely but Agalloch had finally found the one thing that would aid him in beating his own fear; a desire to understand fear... and use that understanding to dominate others with it.
Deciding to become a psychologist versed in phobias as well as a psychiatrist with access to various drugs and chemicals, Agalloch set to work on his studies of the permutations of fear. He became something of a leader in the treatment and annihilation of fear with a respectable practice in his home city, a pleasant cover for the plethora of inhuman and unethical experiments he was performing under everyone's noses. For years he carried on these brutal experiments until finally he was exposed and forced to flee from the short-sighted idiots in power. Now on the run he felt his long-chained fears begin to bubble up, which in turn awakened something within him; a force that epitomized his deepest desire for domination through fear. His studies would reveal this force is called a "Stand", and Agalloch would come to use its ability of nightmares to facilitate greater and greater acts of terror to study. An unfortunate battle with another Stand User in Lansing left Agalloch battered and bloodied, but the good Doctor at least had the satisfaction of wiping out those closest to him. Know Dr. Khallice can resume his mad quest for domination through fear.
Current Life: After recuperating from his battle with Jett Agalloch has teamed up with another Stand User and journeyed to Fallbrook to continue his research and put it to the test, the escaped inmates of the local asylum excellent fodder for facilitating that.
Skills: Genius level intellect, Master Manipulator, Expert Psychologist and Psychiatrist with a broad speciality in phobias, anxiety disorders and psychoactive drugs, Expert scientist with a speciality in Biochemistry, Expert Strategist with a frightful level of skill in psychological warfare, absence of all but one fear.
Weaknesses: Not physically strong, his obsession with causing fear is in effect an addiction and he constantly seeks to feed it, Arrogant and megalomaniacal to a fault, Has one undercutting phobia he has never been able to defeat; Lygophobia, fear of the dark.
Appearance: Standing at 5'5" and weighing in at 150 lbs Agalloch is an impeccable groomed man with cropped ash-blonde hair and round glasses covering his pale blue eyes. Within the confines of his laboratory or base he's never seen out of his scientific wardrobe, but will dawn an immaculate suit as needed for the situation.
Other Details: Maintains a complex on the outskirts of Fallbrook where he conducts his research, and has captured and conditioned some escapees to serve as guards and enforcers. On the other hand there's been a spike in disappearances in Fallbrook, mostly children.
The Human Abstract
Ability: Transmutation - The Human Abstract has insight into the nature of matter and energy, and its fundamental form as the stuff of the universe, no matter what state it is currently in. Put simply THA can transform inorganic matter and objects into energy. He cannot, however, transmute energy into energy or matter into matter, change energy into air (or vice versa), or transmute kinetic energy or radiation. The only types of energy he can use are light, heat, sound, electricity and fire, and the only types of matter he can involve are solids and liquids. All transmutations are permanent, and Agalloch cannot shape matter using this Stand.
The conversion from energy to matter is problematic, because gauging how “much” light or sound might transform into a gallon of water or a pound of stone is difficult. Likewise, how loud is a sound made from a normal-sized door? THA also cannot be used to affect an object larger than a standard sized door (or adult human) but it can break apart a larger object over time. Agalloch should be wary, of course, of destroying objects that support others (load-bearing walls and the like), or of trying to transmute a chemical fire into sand in an enclosed space.
Stand Type: Long-Range
Power: B
Speed: B
Range: A
Durability: D
Precision: C
Learning: E
Appearance: Something like this. About half again as tall as Agalloch.
Example of Power: There are a great many applications of THA's ability; it can touch a wall and make it disappear in a flash of light, or mute the report from a gun by making the sound dissipate into a splash of water. He might change light into stone, causing the room to darken momentarily and small chunks of stone to fall to the ground (though he couldn’t take the light in the room and turn it into a statue, at least not with his Stand alone).
