Character Profile
Name: Jebediah Eaglesmith but you can call him Jeb
Gender: Male
Age: Mid to Late Twenties
Country of Birth: USA
Personality:
Jeb is, first and foremost, a people person. He's friendly and outgoing and strives to maintain a positive attitude in any given situation, good or bad. He's no intention of making anyone his enemy either no matter what they might say or believe.
He lives in accordance to a personal philosophy that words are just noise like music and, just like music, words can be good or bad. What matters to him is what people do and, more importantly, what actions he takes.
Jeb is attentive, especially towards those he considers his friends. He recognizes when it is an appropriate time to share jokes or when all is needed is a sympathetic ear as well as when a situation calls for grieving and shouldering another's pain.
It isn't hard for anyone to land in his category of friends. In his mind, everyone deserves a chance, especially people who've never been given one in life. He's helpful in that way and in other ways. He finds it easiest to help put people at ease and earn their trust and friendship if they know he's someone reliable and dependable.
He's a patient man who's seemingly in complete control of his own emotions. And he's a strong sense of justice with a clear understanding that justice isn't about causing criminals to hurt, but, instead, to help prevent harm altogether by protecting and serving the people. He's so incredibly slow to anger that he's sometimes left people wondering if he's even capable of feeling anger at all.
History:
Jeb was born in the late 20's to a loving mother, Susan, and father, Lucas, who went on to have three more sons throughout the 1930's. By age 9, Jeb already started displaying a sense of responsibility and remarkable maturity by working towards setting a positive example for his brothers who naturally looked up to him as much as they did their dad; moreso for the entire year of 1944 when their father was drafted to serve in the war.
The absence of his father and the thought that Lucas might never return caused him to manifest his stand late one night in his own bedroom.
Fortunately, his father returned alive shortly after the war ended, but another local man who had also served in the war died overseas and he was survived by his wife and four children.
Jeb, who could only begin to imagine what that must have been like to suffer such grief, supported the widow and her children to the best of his ability. He even contributed all he earned as a paperboy to help ensure she and her children would not starve.
The widow remarried, of course, because she needed the financial support of a working man in her life so that she and her children would not end up homeless.
At eighteen years of age, Jeb left home to attend college to pursue a degree in law. He wished to become a lawyer and represent those in his society who could not possibly defend themselves in almost any given court of law. He recognized the social divides between men and women, white folk and colored folk in America, and identified these divides as injustices that needed corrected.
The city in which he attended college proved far larger than he expected with a population that measured in the millions. Over the following years, he used his stand frequently to help resolve crimes that regular people seemed content on ignoring so long as it didn't affect them.
At the age of 19, he started working as a police consultant after receiving recognition for an act of heroism when he located and incapacitated a wanted killer. He very nearly resigned his position after witnessing a policeman assault a colored man with a cattleprod. At the time, he used his stand to disarm and restrain the officer and took care not to deal any lasting or visible damage.
Even after graduating college at 21, Jeb continued pursuing his education and earned acceptance into Georgretown College. He made the transition from one large city to the even larger city of Washington D.C. where he spent three additional years of study and successfully earned a post-graduate degree while continuing to use his stand to combat crime.
Current Life: Jeb's credentials made finding employment at a reputable lawfirm almost easy. A college friend of his called him over the phone one day and informed him of an available position in the town of Fallbrook. He followed up on the lead and landed the position within three months of submitting his application.
Skills: In depth understanding of the American justice system and American law enforcement practices.
He's a highly observant individual when it comes to people and pays very close attention to body language such as tells, nervous habits, facial expressions, and vocal tones to name a few examples and can accurately guess what someone might be feeling based on those indicators.
Weaknesses: Jeb is an incredibly trusting individual. That is not to say that he is gullible. But he is willing to give anyone a chance without first learning anything about them, making him a vulnerable target to hostile and unsavory individuals.
His stand has helped save him in the past, but only against people without stands. He's inexperienced when it comes to engaging in actual combat with others like him who also possess stands and his isn't exactly an offensive type.
Additionally, he's no formal training in actual combat and he relies mostly on the element of surprise and his stand to neutralize targets and threats.
Lastly, he strongly doubts if he can ever bring himself to cause anyone permanent injury or even death and hesitates whenever it comes to making a decision that might involve causing others serious harm.
Appearance: Jeb is neither tall nor short, neither skinny nor fat. He's the appearance of society's idea of an average adult white American man who's well into his twenties. He stands at an unassuming height of 183 cm with a subtly toned physique that hints toward regular and daily physical activity. He's chestnut-brown hair (trimmed), hazel eyes, and a thin mustache. His solid and sharp jawline, smooth chin, and somewhat elevated cheeks help combine a sense of young male beauty with adult maturity and masculinity. His visage generally expresses a welcoming sense of serenity, especially whenever he offers a soft and genuine smile...which is often.
Stand Profile
Stand Name: Twelfth of Never
Ability: Winged Flight
First and foremost, the stand functions primarily as a pair of wings that allow for Jeb to take flight. He can even reach a soaring velocity of 120km/h as a result of the stand's power to support his weight easily enough as well as its inherent speed.
It goes without saying that the durability of the stand also enables Jeb to use the wings as a protective shield against attacks and incoming projectiles, but he cannot maintain flight while doing so.
Sub-Ability: Feather Rain
This stand's sub-ability, Feather Rain, allows Jeb to shed feathers from his stand and immediately grow new ones in their stead. A feather, once shed, cannot be controlled by Jeb and will merely descend for a maximum distance of 5 meters before ceasing to exist altogether. Whenever a falling feather directly touches a solid object (living, non-living, or dead), that object's weight is reduced by a mere tenth of its original weight and the effect persists as long as Jeb remains within 5 meters of that object and only as long as no part of that object lies outside his range. He may significantly reduce the weight of any number of objects within his effective range of 5 meters by shedding many feathers onto them. The slow descent of the feathers as well as their limited coverage makes them easily avoidable by anyone who can see them.
Stand Type: Wearable
Power: C
Speed: A
Range: D
Durability: B
Precision: E
Learning: B
Appearance: A pair of light-blue feathered wings that appear on Jeb's back. When fully extended, the wings have a measured span of 360 cm. The stand, unlike most wearable stands, is not always active and must first be manifested in order for it to function. It is, however, only ever visible to other stand users.
Example of Power:
If Feather Rain were used on an occupied car, the car and all of its connecting parts would receive a reduction in weight, but its contents and occupants such as passengers, luggage, groceries, a spare tire, etc. would retain their weight unless said occupants and contents were somehow exposed to the feathers.
The only fluids and liquids Feather Rain affects are those integrated in the working systems of the objects its touches such as the oil and gasoline in vehicles and machines or blood and other such bodily fluids inside people and animals to name some of the more obvious exceptions to the rule.
When it comes to people and animals, clothing can actually act as protection against Feather Rain and umbrellas can certainly serve as shields against it, but keep in mind that Feather Rain reduces the weight of ALL objects it touches directly and that includes clothing and other such coverings. It is only when a feather makes direct contact with a physical part of a person or animal that Feather Rain affects their weight. And, in case someone has prosthetic or cybernetic attachments, Feather Rain treats those attachments as separate objects.
As mentioned already, each time a feather from Feather Rain touches an object, its weight is reduced by a tenth of its original weight. If ten feathers touch the same object then that object literally becomes as light as a feather or...more accurately, the feather of an American bald eagle.
Feather Rain cannot affect Jeb or Twelfth of Never, but his clothes, accessories, and other such possessions are subject to its effect just like with any other solid object.
