Hey, apologies if this isn't up to snuff, but I really love Jojo's and RPing and i've had stand ideas tossed around in my head for years. Please be brutally honest so I can fine tune this as much as need be. Thank you in advance. <3
Name:
Rachel "Ivy" Bernard
Gender:
Female
Age:
25
Country of Birth:
France
Personality:
While incredibly flirtatious and outgoing when comfortable around friends, Rachel's first impression upon people is one of a somber quiet, one that she does not break easily or willingly. Past experiences have lead her to believe that anyone not in her circle of friends wants something from her, and in the wrong way. When one does break her barriers and walls, she becomes a totally different person- possibly some form of undiagnosed mental affliction, but no doctor at the time would willingly tell her that or even acknowledge it. She often self medicates via the use of her Stand, [Strawberry Fields Forever], often turning common houseplants into cannabis for recreational use and to help relax. While the ability to generate her own drugs via plants may have lead to an addiction, she is firm in that she does not see herself dependent on cannabis. Rather, she is more reliant on the company of those she has marked as friends- which is a small number.
History:
"My kingdom, my kingdom for a way out of here," Rachel would often bemoan as a teenager. She was abandoned at the steps of a convent in Paris, and often she would be forced into prayers and religious services, despite her wishes to stay in the garden. You see, poor Rachel was born blind. The only thing she saw when was forced to "look upon the cross" by the sisters in the convent was pure milky white. The sisters saw her as some kind of blind angel and wanted her to be a nun unlike themselves, but Rachel lacked any desires at age 13, except to see normally and maybe lead a somewhat normal life away from the overly religious. Opportunity came during a town market, when Rachel realized something odd- she could not see through her eyes, but rather, she could see through the plants gathered around the market square. She managed to use this odd gift of sight to wander towards the apothecary's wagon, whereupon she was immediately snatched up for her ability to "see through the plants."
She -almost- wanted to go back to the convent, but at least the apothecary, Dr. James Feelgood, let her have some small freedoms. She was able to keep a pet, a golden retriever which she had dubbed Anna. While she wasn't officially trained and it was ahead of the time, Anna often would guide Rachel around in the absence of plants. Soon, Rachel's dominion over plants took on a new form- she could alter their growth and provide them with new chemical compositions. Soon, a strawberry or apple was producing an obscene amount of cyanide or arsenic. She could turn a carrot into cannabis- This girl could do it all, so long as it involved plants. Soon, she started to tell Dr. Feelgood about a strange lady that would appear over her shoulder sometimes. The doctor thought she was borderline insane, but given the fact that she was producing physical evidence that she could see through plants and manipulate them in previously unseen ways, hell, maybe it wasn't so much out of the question. But her abilities were squandered here in Paris, and Dr. Feelgood knew it. After learning how to make medicines and use plants to heal over many years, he saw he had to keep her here some how. And that's when desire and emotion overrode his desire to take on this girl as a pupil.
One night, from the rose bush that she kept in her room, she and her "green lady' saw Dr. Feelgood enter the room and attempt to force herself upon him. What happened next could have only been described as one of the most brutal murder scenes in the history of the City of Lights. Dr. Feelgood had been drawn and quartered, with many thorns lodged into his skin and bones.
With a large sum of the doctor's money and her green lady, which she calls [Strawberry Fields Forever], Rachel has nestled into a small town in America, hoping to start her own apothecary/pharmacy. Despite being a woman living on her own in 1950's America, she lives on her own and has a semi-successful business after escaping nuns and a crazed French doctor. You can say her life's been a little.. bizarre.
Current Life:
Currently living on her own, in her apartment above her pharmacy. While she couldn't take Anna with her, the apartment is adorned with many flowers and plants of various natures, allowing her to see through her stand. She makes a decent living for herself, though the local costumers often complain of her somber and quiet nature, claiming that she should be more friendly and outgoing. She also receives regular visits from the police to make sure she isn't up to no good, as she's 1.) blind, and 2.) a known user of a somewhat illicit (and possibly banned, my history buff is hazy here) and possibly banned substance. Still, life is better for her here than it is in France...
Skills:
Despite being blind, Rachel attempts to keep in good health with a good diet of fruit and veggies and moving bags of mulch/manure around the storage area of her store. She is good with money and bookkeeping, and thanks to her stand, excels at crafting medicines and elixirs. While some are superficial (especially those she markets to the dying, which are often dirt cheap and often contain some relaxing drugs to ease the suffering), some are quite potent, with some customers recommending her to people in the next town over and beyond. She also enjoys what reading her stand can afford her, and is quite educated in other fields as well as her own. Her true passion is to one day design some clothes based around plants.
Weaknesses:
A vast fear of organized religion and men in power often keep Rachel confined to the room above her shop, and even then she hardly leaves. When you're able to make your own food, you become a shut in. She's also developed a fear of open flames thanks to her stand and its main power over plants. She also adores animals, so people in her shop have sometimes used this to steal from her. One thing a customer has noted is that they swore a cactus "smacked" another costumer when they abused their dog inside of the shop, but he could have been hallucinating from a "vapor given off by one of her potions."
Appearance:
Rachel's milky white eyes are only overshadowed by her pale complexion, one which really sets off her auburn hair. She's a tall but skinny young woman, having an athletic build at best. Standing in at 5'10, she never gives out her weight (and nor should I give it out here, that'd be rude: P), the dresses she tailors for herself often incorporate some kind of plant into them for her stand's ability to function. She hardly wears shoes, claiming that she lacks a connection to the earth when she does, but often will put on heels out of necessity when going outside, rare as she does. Her favorite dress is a ruby red dress which she matches with a rose in her hair.
Other Details:
While bilingual, Rachel will resort to French when scared or frightened.
Stand Profile
Stand Name:
Strawberry Fields Forever
Ability:
Strawberry Fields Forever deals in the accelerated growth and control of plants, as well as manipulation of the chemical compounds within. SFF also gives Rachel the ability to see through plants as if they were her own eyes, although she can only see at the angles of nearby plants around her, sometimes making aiming and navigation difficult unless she wears a plant on her head- which she often does with a rose or flower in her hair, sometimes getting creative with her outfits. NOTE: Strawberry Fields Forever cannot generate its own plants. It needs a pre-existing plant to function. Once it has a plant under its control, it can manipulate it as it sees fit.
ADDITIONAL INFO: Strawberry Fields Forever can control, at most, two plants at one time. The plants can reach a maximum of 10 ft. in size, with the ability to spawn vines of about 20 ft.

Appearance:
Strawberry Fields Forever takes the form of a young woman with bright yellow eyes and crimson red skin wearing a floral dress and a son bonnet, which is about as yellow as Earth's sun, with a somewhat fiery appearance. The stand's dress is longer than its legs, giving her a ghostly or almost ethereal appearance. Her ligaments appear to be made out of vines, which are curled tight to mimic the appearance of normal limbs. She also sports a small purse made of cactus to enforce her somewhat brutal/natural theme.
Example of Power:
While Strawberry Fields Forever was able to draw and quarter a fully grown human male, it cannot do much to metal except stretching or denting it. Also, the poisons or drugs it creates depends on how long Rachel is able to cultivate it. A plant recently affected by Strawberry Fields Forever cannot generate a lethal dose of cyanide, but it can generate vines/thorns used for combat.
Final Note: If using an attack Rush (mainly in the form of fine thrashing), Rachel's battle cry is "AUAUAUAUAUAU AU REVOIR!"
